You need to sign-in before you can register for this event.
A new workshop to help councils understand what asset and service transfer means and consider next steps in preparation for opportunities that might result from local government re-organisation in Suffolk.

This introductory session will drill down into:
  • What is Devolution and Local Government Reorganisation
  • What does it mean in the Town and Parish Sector
  • What powers do you already have to address any assets and services
  • What considerations do you need to think about (breaks down into specifically Financial and Resourcing)
  • What are the next steps for my council

How is it delivered and how long does it last?
This is an online workshop using the SALC Zoom video conferencing platform.  There is a limited number of places (max. 25) in order to ensure everyone has the opportunity to engage with the trainer.  It will last approximately 90 minutes.

How will the council benefit?
With detailed business cases being submitted by Government by County, District and Borough Councils in Suffolk proposing one or three unitary models, this timely workshop will allow councils to consider what, if anything, they might be interested in taking over by way of transfer.   By considering these matters early, your council will be able to identify next steps and what considerations need to be taken into account including resources, funding, capacity, interest or use of a service/building and cost allowing focussed engagement with your community and informative debate on this topic.
