Buckingham Palace Garden Party 2026
Winners of the nomination draw

SALC was delighted to receive the opportunity to invite two Chairpersons/Mayors, selected by draw, to attend the Buckingham Palace Garden Party in 2026.

The successful winners were Roger Broughton from Brome & Oakley Parish Council who was accompanied by his wife and Rosalind Hamill from West Row Parish Council who was accompanied by Sharon Vale, West Row clerk.  They have kindly shared with us a few words and photos of their spectacular day.

Roger Broughton

King Charles and Queen Camilla were first on to the terrace, followed by Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.  A stirring rendition of the national anthem and a round of applause was followed by the Royal party, attended by King’s Guard Beefeaters, mingling with the 8,000 guests.

Military bands played as the Royal party were introduced to guests. We had the opportunity to walk around the extensive Palace gardens.

It gave us a wonderful opportunity to see King Charles and Queen Camilla at close quarters, to meet some lovely and inspiring fellow guests, and to spend time in the beautiful gardens.  We are grateful to SALC for enabling us to attend such an unforgettable event.

Sharon and I had a fantastic day attending the Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. It was a great experience, and we were very grateful to SALC for this opportunity.

We met some very interesting people throughout the afternoon, and it was wonderful to get up close to members of the Royal Family. A truly memorable occasion that we will never forget.
